Detailed book overview
At the start of senior year, Sara wants two things: to get into her first-choice college and to find true love. Tobey also wants two things: to win Battle of the Bands and to make Sara fall in love with him.
Dave, the boy Sara was hoping would realize she exists, moves in on Sara first. But Tobey is impossible for Sara to ignore. He gets the little things that matter to her and, most importantly, he feels like a soul mate. Can a slacker rock star wannabe win the heart of a pretty class brain like Sara?
If you take a chance, you just might find true love...
Rhiannon is completely devastated after the breakup with her boyfriend. She wants him back. Nicole's ex still wants to be with her, but she's obsessed with someone totally forbidden. James is hopelessly in love with Rhiannon, who doesn't see that their friendship can be so much more. Will their desire to take a mean girl down a notch bring these three friends what they want...and more?
At the beginning of sophomore year, Marisa is ready for a fresh start and, hopefully, her first real boyfriend. Derek is clearly the boy Marisa has been waiting for, but there's just one problem. He already has a girlfriend. Then there's Nash, the dorktastic boy next door with zero boyfriend potential. So of course Nash wants to take his friendship with Marisa to the next level.
But her boy drama is the least of Marisa's issues. She is dealing with overcoming depression and anxiety, a family that is falling apart, and a best friend who won't stop talking to sketchy guys online. Only the anonymous DJ, who has the school hooked on his underground podcasts, seems to get what Marisa's going through. But she has no idea who he is...or does she?
What if your soul mate is your best friend's boyfriend?

But the city is full of surprises that Brooke never expected. Ever since a painful family trauma, she's been closed off to her parents, to her friends, and even to herself. Now, inspired by the thrilling energy of the bustling and creative city around her, Brooke begins to discover a side of herself she never knew existed. And as she finds out, in the city that never sleeps, love can appear around any corner...
Noelle's life is all about survival. Even her best friend doesn't know how much she gets bullied, or the ways her mom neglects her. Noelle's kept so much about her life a secret for so long that when her longtime crush Julian Porter starts paying attention to her, she's terrified.
Surely it's safer to stay hidden than to risk the pain of a broken heart. But when the torment of a friend takes a dramatic turn, Noelle realizes it's time to stand up for herself...and for the love that makes her keep holding on.
The last night of summer is only the beginning...

Even if they find their way back to each other, can they make a long-distance relationship work despite trust issues, ex drama, and some serious background differences?
