The Last Skipjack

When Celie and Ava cross paths as kids, they become instant friends.

Despite their racial differences, and the cruel Jim Crow laws, their friendship gradually blossoms.

As the years go by, Celie, the cheerful child of tenant farmers, becomes a community health nurse in an impoverished black community.

Ava, the reserved child to a sociopathic mother, joins a Black Power movement with the hope of changing her society for the better.

Will the two succeed in making "equality" long-lasting in a world where everything is not what it used to be?
