Shadow Players Books

For a Muse of Fire

Jetta’s family is renowned for being the most gifted group of shadow players there is.

Jetta has a deadly gift that she hardly understands, one that involves seeing the souls of those who have died recently.

But with the colonizing forces controlling her country, Jetta must neither reveal nor tell of her abilities.

With her family earning a place aboard the royal ship to Aquitan thanks to her gift and popularity, gossips reveal that the Mad Emperor could potentially rid Jetta of her ills.

As the insurgence grows and Jetta encounters a young smuggler, she will have to confront facts and choices unlike any other.

A Kingdom for a Stage

Jetta is on the run.

The army is after her for royal treachery, the destruction of Hell’s Court temple, as well as the killing of General Legarde.

But those aren't the only reasons why they are pursuing her.

They also yearn to possess the gift that runs through her veins—the power that breathes life into virtually anything, including weapons.

They are open to helping Jetta overcome her illness, if only she trades her blood.

The insurgents also want Jetta’s help in an effort to overcome the colonizers.

Caught in a brawl between rebel forces and the colonizing army, Jetta is faced with the toughest of choices.

On This Unworthy Scaffold

Jetta’s home is on the brink of civil war.

Even worse is that Jetta is caught in the middle of the battle.

Given her mystical abilities, she could save the lives of everyone, and spare her country from bloodshed and destruction.

She could also end up annihilating everything.

In this stunning conclusion to Heidi Heilig’s acclaimed Shadow Players trilogy, readers will explore new continents, meet new gods, plunge at the heart of palace riots and political intrigue, and face tough questions about power and deception.

This story is told partially in ephemera, complete with original songs, myths, play scripts, etc.

The Girl from Everywhere

It all started for Nix in 1868 in Honolulu.

Ever since, she has journeyed to magical Scandinavia and contemporary New York City, just to mention a few of the numerous places she has travelled to—both real and imagined.

Nix’s father is able to navigate his vessel, The Temptation, anywhere, whenever he pleases, so long as he has a map.

Everything however changes when he discovers the one map he has always wanted; one that could take him back to 1868 Honolulu, right before the demise of Nix’s mother during childbirth.

When her father alters the past, nothing will ever be the same again.
