Detailed book overview
The Flatman Compendium by Chris James is an environmental comic strip book featuring 'Flatman', the anti-hero and greatest threat to the world since the discovery of oil, and his family members—who are all dysfunctional except for daughter Doora.
The messages in this book are just as applicable as they were when the book was first published in 1976.
An unmapped mass of land is ‘extruded’ into the Bay of Biscay by a solar-tidal magmatic pulse. Waiting to lay claim to the virgin island are 80 people in a flotilla of trussed up barges with a year’s supply of essentials.
Who are all these people?
How exactly did they come to know about the island’s formation?
And what next if their claim to autonomy is embraced by the rest of the world?
Fascinating and intriguing to the core, this book tells the story of how humanity’s race to self-destruction could come to a sudden stop.
