Born and raised in Barnsley, England, she studied Drama and Education at the University of Exeter.

Her books, which celebrate the courage and perseverance of women, as well as her beloved Yorkshire, have sold more than two million copies across the globe.

Over the years, Milly has worked in accounting, offices, mills, banks, sales, and exports before becoming a full-time writer.
