Simon Kernick is a British author of crime fiction, mystery and thriller novels.

Born in Berkshire, England, he holds a degree in humanities from Brighton Polytechnic.

Passionate about crime fiction from a very young age, Kernick continued writing short stories even while pursuing his degree.

While in school, Kernick worked as a fruitpicker and Christmas-tree uprooter.

Upon graduation, he worked as a sales person for MMT Computing (1992) and IT and Business Consultancy, Metaskil (1998) until he secured a publisher for his first novel, The Business of Dying (2002).

He currently lives in Oxfordshire with his wife and their two daughters.
