Reversal

This book is a moving collection of poems by British author Kate Rhodes.

It in some way serves as an autobiography and a travelogue.

In the collection, Kate reverses into the past, looking for her alienated father and going back to the house where she was raised; a place she always dreaded going back to.

Her travel poems on the other hand take into account the distant and meditative road trips that she has taken across The Land of the Free, taking time to examine some emotional turning points.

As expressed by Don Paterson, Kate’s style is ‘pared to the bone, elegant and precise.’

As expressed by Don Paterson, Kate’s style is ‘pared to the bone, elegant and precise.’

Kate has over the years been shortlisted for both the Forward and Bridport Awards.
