Born in 1951, she attended Union College in Schenectady, New York, where she graduated with a BA in English in 1972.

A former editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan magazine, Kate is now a regular speaker at libraries and conferences where she enjoys sharing her remarkable journey from magazine editor to suspense novelist.

Kate, whose books have been published in 15 other countries, currently lives in New York City.
