A lover of art, music, and books raised in an academic family, Kristen enjoyed drawing, playing the violin, and reading while growing up.

Her passion for reading inspired her to start creating her own stories, so much so that she can't recall a time when she never had characters in her head.

A recipient of the Christy Award for her work on Secrets (2004), the first book in the Michelli Family, Kristen currently lives in the foothills of the Colorado Rocky Mountain with her beloved husband, Jim, and various family members and pets.
