Detailed book overview
Born In The Apocalypse
Abandoned houses. Burned out businesses. Towns overrun. Dead bodies left to rot where they fell. Hordes of the infected roaming the land, killing anyone they find. Survivors huddled behind walls, trying to scratch out an existence in a world turned upside down.
This is the world Joshua Andrews grew up in. This is the only world he has ever known. After the Tripp virus wiped out the rest of the country, the state of Illinois is the only part of the country left with any survivors.
Walled in to preserve the remnants of the country, Josh and his friend Trey deal with growing up in a world that will literally tear them apart if they make a mistake. But that's the price they have to pay for being born in the apocalypse.
Four years ago, Josh Andrews lost his family to the infected that roam his world. Refusing to just hide away, Josh heads out into the wild, determined to see if there is life out there worth living. What he discovers will change the direction of his life forever, and put him on a course that will shatter everything he thought he knew about the world he grew up in.
"No one who ever crossed the wall ever came back."
Joshua Andrews had heard those words his entire life. He had never met anyone who had ever been over the wall, and the single truth was what everyone knew. You crossed the wall, you died. So when Joshua found himself on the wrong side of the dividing line between life and death, he knew it was only a matter of time before that truth came calling.
But while he is trying to find a way back over the wall, he stumbles on another truth, one that will shake the foundations of his beliefs. Not everything is what it seems, and Joshua will learn what the price of truth can be.
A veteran of the CIA, Joe MacCullen is a seasoned operative tasked with finding out why genetic scientists are dying all over the world. His mission leads him to ground zero of the zombie apocalypse.
An eco-terrorist group is trying to wipe out humanity and it's a race against time to stop the end of the world, to stop everyone from dying only to rise again.
Joe MacCullen has survived the end of the world caused by the terrorist group called Jester. His final mission has Joe and his partner across the country looking for survivors, and more importantly, looking for Jester.
From the Mississippi River to the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, ex-CIA agent Joe MacCullen will need all of his skill, training, and bad attitude to make anyone who aligns themselves with Jester pay for what they have done.
Jake Talon and his brother Aaron grew up in the zombie apocalypse. All they have ever known is a world constantly threatened with extinction from the undead hordes which roamed the land.
Taught by their father to survive and live, the two men drift, unsure of their future. As Jake and Aaron try to figure out what they were meant to do with this world of theirs, someone has plans to bring the zombies back.
Jake and Aaron Talon have been trained by the best zombie fighters from the old days of the Upheaval. But an old enemy has resurfaced to challenge the guardians of the New United States. The Talons will need all of their skill and talent to face a threat not seen since the early days of when the world turned upside down. With new allies and old friends, they will run head on into what they fear the most.
After the Zombie Wars, John Talon and Charlie James sealed off the mountain passes, keeping hordes of zombies from ever reaching the safe zones. No one would ever have a good reason for crossing the Gates.
Years later, Jake and Aaron Talon are following a mystery, a murder which will take them through the Gates and into the lands of the dead.
White Flag Of The Dead
Millions died when the Enillo Virus swept the earth. Millions more were lost when the victims of the plague refused to stay dead, instead rising to slaughter and feed on those left alive. For survivors like John Talon and his son Jake, they are faced with a choice: Do they submit to the dead, raising the white flag of surrender? Or do they find the will to fight, to try and hang on to the last shreds or humanity?
Around every corner, they are waiting. In every dark alley, they are lurking. Behind every door, they are hiding. For each survivor of the Upheaval, every day brings the same grim reality: the dead are coming. For every community that managed to survive, for every band that came together, questions nag their minds. Are they alone? Are they the last ones left? Does humanity die with them?
As the dead roam the abandoned highways and walk among the ruins of the living, one group will make a stand to halt the tide and take it back.
Sixteen hundred miles of zombie-infested territory. Sixteen hundred miles over terrain that may not have seen a living human in nearly three years. Millions of hungry ghouls waiting with the patience of the dead.
At stake is the soul of the nation, the binding ideals which could remake the country in the hands of whoever possesses it.
John Talon and his crew of survivors, torn away from their loved ones by a mission of urgency, must make the journey across the country to save their small chance of rebuilding a nation.
Determined to stop them is a madman with his own private army to back him up. A man who will not allow anyone, living or dead, to get in his way.
In the race for control of the nation, John and his friends will discover whether or not America the Beautiful has become America the Dead.
During the Upheaval, city after city fell to the Enillo Virus, filling the streets with ravenous ghouls. Not even the countryside was spared, as millions of the undead flowed over the land. From the mountains of Appalachia to the beaches of the Atlantic, the East Coast was dead. Two groups must enter this nightmare.
On one side is John Talon and his small crew, desperate to secure the foundation of a new country. On the other side is Major Thorton, bent on the destruction of the soul of the nation. In a race for the country, John must use all of his skill, determination, and resources to make sure the country does not forever stay the United States of the Dead.
It's been seven years since the Upheaval. Seven years of fighting the hordes of the undead. John Talon and his family are hoping to finally settle down and start their lives over again. But in the grasslands of Iowa, a new danger has emerged. A new form of the Enillo Virus, unlike any seen before, threatens to unravel the fragile new country. John, Charlie, Duncan, and Tommy will find their skills put to the test as they face off against the worst of the virus.
How do you fight a foe that is fast, smart, and relentless? How do you prepare for an enemy that doesn't know pain, fear, or mercy? How do you stop the dead from rising again, ripping apart everything you've tried to rebuild? John Talon and his crew race across the state, trying to stop the wave of zombie children from destroying the fragile communities struggling to rebuild after the Upheaval. John will learn the terrible lesson of sacrifice as he makes a final stand against the dead.
John Talon and his friends have fought hard to make a small piece of the country safe for people to live in. But hundreds of communities are living in fear, wondering when the next wave of undead will come, and worrying they will not survive it.
John and the members of the New United States declare war on the zombies, and in this fight, there is no surrender. Everyone must choose a side. Will it be life, or death?
As they move across the landscape, the team will be forced to decide one way or the other. Back at home, a movement has begun which will threaten the foundation of everything John has tried to build.
The Zombie Wars have been going on for nearly a year. John Talon and his army have been chasing zombies from one mountain range to the other But there is another threat that lives in the wilds of the Rocky Mountains. A threat that if turned loose, will forever change the future of the struggling New United Sates. John must face this menace head on, or lose everything his army has fought and died for.
The war on the zombies hasn't gone as expected. The army has been split into three parts, with Tommy and Duncan leading the charge through the southwest while John and Charlie deal with a problem that threatens the security of the entire campaign and the rest of the country. And all the while, a massive horde of zombies is moving its way across the plains, on a collision course with the survivors that will end only when one of them falls down for good.
